Some issues to be aware of when submitting an article to this documentation:
- Images: avoid screenshots in jpg format, fuzzy and a little too small. Replace them with larger png images. Make all screenshots 1440px wide or a little more knowing they will lead to creation of a set of responsive images in different sizes and formats, including webp.
- Headings: use headings instead of bold lines. Those bold lines do not create a semantic document structure and would be flagged by the Joomla Accessibility Checker.
- Click: this word is commonly used and is often inherited from older documentation. It is a mouse action not appropriate for keyboard or touchpad users. It should be replaced by Select.
- Punctuation: we have many lists of terms that start with a bold word or word group followed by a colon or full stop, sometimes inside the bold group and sometimes outside the bold group. For consistency don't embold the colon or full stop. Like in the list you are currently reading.
- Words to Watch: see this list in the Developers Manual. For instance, mind back-end, front-end and directory, words that are in the Words to Watch Unacceptable Word column.
- Manager: this term was often used in Joomla 3, as in Article Manager, Menu Manager or User Manager. It has pretty much disappeared from Joomla 4+. Now use whatever is in Title bar of an Administrator page, for example Articles list page, Menus: Items list page or Modules (Site) list page.
- Consistent use of in or on: as in "Select the Help button in/on the Toolbar" or "in/on the Page". You can see these locations as containers, which would make in the prefered word to use.
